Sizing specifically for the live part of SAP HANA live

Hi SCN,

 

I have been looking around for a while now and I couldn't get any information regarding the sizing for the reporting side of SAP HANA. I am aware that this is quite a specific question, still, here's my bottle in the ocean !

 

For more context, a customer of mine is implementing FICO on HANA, and they have bought HANA live on top of that. They already had a reporting solution they wanted to keep so we have plugged Cognos on HANA live's views via JDBC. Usage wise, some FICO users, not all of them, will be using the views provided in the live package. Some extra users will be using the reporting even though they don't have any access to ECC. And yes, that comes with licences stuff to do.

 

I would like to be able to have an idea of the potential impact a heavy use of the database, for reporting purpose, might have on the ECC layer in order to recommend (or not) some extra power for the appliance. The testing we have done so far shows that surpringly enough the bottleneck is the network, and that the appliance is not suffering at all from a few users asking for data, even when the dataset that has to be fetched is large-ish (around 1millions line per users). Figures are as follow : 200 users for FICO, 80 for the reporting (including let's say 60 FICO users) on a 512 Go appliance from IBM (that can be extended to 1To).

 

Any input is more than welcome for helping figuring out a sizing method for the reporting side alone so that several scenarios (ECC+reporting 1, ECC+reporting2, etc...) can be evaluated.

Hi,

 

I would like to install a NW7.4 on hana DB, widows environment. When I have invoked SPM, i couldnt see standard system instalation under NW 7.4. Plese let me know if Iam missing anything here. Also is it possible to install a new NW 7.4 on HANA DB?

sFin HANA Live --column store error: search table error

Dear Experts,

 

Please help me with following issue on HANA Live content?

 

I copied one standard Calculation View from HANA Live content (Content --> sap --> erp --> sFin --> fi --> gl --> FAC_FIN_STMNT) in custom package.

Activated it & tried to have "Data Preview", but received following error-

 

"Error: SAP DBTech JDBC: [2048]: column store error: search table error:  [2999] general error (no further information available);Failed to translate queryEntries for node Projection_1FAC_FIN_STMNT_ITM_UNIONCOMP$$$$FAC_FIN_STMNT_ITM$$FAC_GLACCT_HIER_LEAF_IN_ALTER_CHART_OF_ACCOUNTS, reason: general error (no further information available);Failed to find  in attribute map"

Will HANA Live no longer receive updates?

I have heard that HANA Live will no longer be receiving updates from SAP.

 

So my question is whether this is true and, if so, when is SAP looking to stop supporting HANA Live.

Hi,

 

I have downloaded the HANA live below version  and It has been imported into Hana Studio there I got the 1018 calculation views.and used some views(Standard no customized) as per my client requirement.

SAP HANA LIVE RDS V5.10

 

Suppose, New version might be implemented in coming months and the package contains  around 1100 or more Cal views then i will be use this package that time.  What it is impact on used views due to this package imported??

SAP HANA Live - View type via view properties within HANA Studio

Hi all,

 

Specifically within HANA Studio, and as elaborated in the thread linked below, I believe there is a "VDM properties" tab available which indicates the HANA Live view type of a calculation view.  Is this feature available publically, perhaps with an additional plugin?

Dear gurus,

 

We have installed SAP HANA Live in our HANA Appliance (Suite on HANA).

We can see hba.ecc content (1018 Calculation Views), hba.explorer content and hba tools content.

 

When we try connect to HANA Live Explorer with Internet Explorer (http://<hanaserver>:<XS Port>/sap/hba/explorer/index.html), always it shown error page (404 - Not found)

 

We need deploy additional content?

 

Could you help me, please?

We have deployed Hana Live in our environment.

(SAP HANA ANALYTICS FOR ERP 1.0 )

HANA:
Version: 1.00.85.0

Internal Version: 1.85.0 (1850)

 

When I try to connect via the browser with:

http://< Hana server>:8000/sap/hba/explorer/index.html

or

http://< Hana server>:8000/sap/hba/explorer

 

I receive this(blank):

I have made sure that I have the roles: sap.hba.explorer.roles::Developer & sap.hba.explorer.roles::Business

Under Configuration, the application_list contains

InformationAccess, libtrustmanager, libxsauthenticator, libxssaml, libxsbase

 

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Projection does not populate in Hana Live Content

Hi all,

 

we have HANA Live Content running in our Company premises and  were trying to Activate calculation View NewGLFinanacialStatementPlanActVarQuery for Finance  .

 

the NewGLFinanacialStatementPlanActVarQuery consist of few projection and data is projected to this Query from another calculation view which is NewGLFinanacialStatementPlanActualVariance via Projection tool. we have activated all the depended calculation views for the Query and data can be previewed in NewGLFinanacialStatementPlanActualVarianceview.

 

the Bottom layer of the NewGLFinanacialStatementPlanActVarQuery (as depicted in the image)  has a projection (Projection_25) which projected the data from NewGLFinanacialStatementPlanActualVariance . but when we try to view the data in projection view (Projection_25) it's getting zero records, but when execute the NewGLFinanacialStatementPlanActualVariance .we can see the data.

 

This is happened only for the HANA Live Content Queries .

 

for further clarification, we can view the date in the Details Pane (Depicted with Number 1), but in Number 2, that is projection_25, we cant not view the data.  any idea on this

Dear Experts,

Where can I get the latest list of all the HANA live reports available in system.

 

some of the list in  help.sap.com\hba  dates back to 2014.

 

There should a consolidates list somewhere.

Hi Team,

 

We have Sales data in SAP CAR & we have don't want to send this data to ECC..

 

as per requirement we have not assigned unwanted task to profile & everything is working fine as per requirement..

 

now we have only concern that how we will delete this data from /posdw/tlogus table, as this data no more needed for ECC.

Issue during the Deployment of SAP HANA ANALY. FOR SFIN 1.0

Dear All,

 

We are deploying SAP HANA ANALY. FOR SFIN 1.0 on the SAP EHP7 for ERP 6.0 HANA system. Below are the steps followed to deploy the content

 

  1. Deploy  SAP HANA ANALYTICS FOR ERP 1.0 as per SAP note 1967187(51048027.ZIP)
  2. Change of tables created in HANA DB from row store to column store as per SAP note 1800515
  3. Deploy SAP HANA ANALY. FOR SFIN 1.0(51048024.ZIP)

 

Steps A and B completed successfully, then start with step "C". But the deployment of SAP HANA ANALY. FOR SFIN 1.0 failed with activation errors.

 

Logged into the HANA studio to check on the views. there are lot of view with "red" status. Tried to activate the views but didn't help.

 

Request your support on resolving the issue and successfully deploy SAP HANA ANALY. FOR SFIN 1.0
